Actually, the highlight already exists as Pastorenteich, which is also the name of this beautiful pond.

Idyllically situated in the middle of the forest

The nature reserve is located in the joint municipality of Schwaförden in the member municipality of Sudwalde, about 4 km north of the center of Schwaförden. It essentially consists of a nutrient-poor Schlatt (Ice Age oligotrophic shallow water) with silted-up zones of transitional and oscillating grassland moors and moor forest more online:

The Erdmann Cycle Path is a 70 km long route that introduces the life of the forester Erdmann (1859-1943) and the special features of the mixed forest he created, as well as different tree species in different stations.

The Pastorendiek belongs to the nature reserve of the same name. The Schlatt and the surrounding forest are home to valuable raised bog vegetation and rare amphibian species such as the crested newt.

Located on the road between Schwaförden and Sudwalde, you'll find the Pastorendiek. However, you'll only find it once you're actually there, as it's very well hidden in the forest. Even with the signpost on the path, you still have to walk a few meters before you finally see it. Anyone wanting to walk around it will likely only be able to do so on foot, as the path is often difficult to discern.
