The charterhouse is immersed in pristine nature. A good stop, even just to refill your water supply at the fountain in front of the charterhouse. On both the Veroli and Collepardo sides, there are many paved roads and trails, some of which are technical, for exploring the Ernici mountains.

The last Carthusian died a few years ago and now the charterhouse is just a monument to visit, but it is still worth it. The church, also beautiful, is still consecrated.

Green space ideal for a break and a picnic

It is unique of its kind in that it crosses many streams and in some sections the route is in the stream itself

Near the campsite you will find this small church. At this point, on the Cammino di San Benedetto, the road becomes a dirt road.

This majestic Charterhouse is located in the municipality of Collepardo. It was founded in 1204 at the behest of Pope Innocent III. For several centuries it was inhabited by the Carthusians, who in the mid-twentieth century gave way to the Cistercians. Inside there is a library of immense beauty with about 25,000 volumes of great value and the Pharmacy where the monks produced medicines and liqueurs.

This is one of the richest springs in the Ernici Mountains.

This tower was part of a sighting control system, to protect Alatri (in pre-Roman times).
