A very beautiful park. Definitely worth a visit! 🤩

The ancient Greek amphitheater is considered the pinnacle of historical sights in Taormina. Perched on a hill, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the shimmering sea, the Bay of Naxos, and the towering Mount Etna. Built of brick in the 3rd century BC, it is one of the largest of its kind in Sicily. It is believed to have been expanded under the Romans, but Greek inscriptions can still be seen on the seats.

Only a quarter of the trail had been mowed when we hiked there today. Before that, about 300 meters of grass, thistles, and brambles were looming—it might soon be impossible to get through.

It's worth strolling through the park. Beautiful buildings, wonderful plants, and a magnificent view. An oasis of tranquility.

The building, dating back to the 11th century, is located at 420 m above sea level and is accessed via a steep stone staircase.

Crowded in the season, especially when the tourists from cruise ships are driven through Taormina.
