The current Basilica Sanctuary was built recently (1957-1979), but the history surrounding the cult is much older, dating back to the late eighth and early ninth centuries. The Piano Vernà equipped area is located just below Mount Pizzo Vernà. It can be reached by car up to its gate, going up from the town of Rimiti. Once you reach the gate, you walk down for about 200 m. Very pleasant area, with tables and fire points, and a beautiful fountain. There is also a hut. Bivouackable

Excellent starting point for the climb of Rocca Salvatesta. It is an area equipped with tables and fire points, an excellent bivouac point next to the state road (the presence of a water source has not been confirmed) to then tackle the climb the following day

A work of art made of gold and colors. But I especially like the view. There are many souvenir shops, bars and a restaurant here.

Novara di Sicilia is one of the Borghi più belli d'Italia and it really deserves this title. A great place full of nice people.
