After the 2024 eruption, the mountain grew by a good 80 meters at this point. At the summit, there are small, hot vents where you can warm your hands in the steam 😉

When you enter this segment... both in summer as in my case... and in winter ... if you do not have offline map devices you seriously risk getting lost because the path is neither marked nor beaten a real forest.... but fascinating!! be very careful!!!! thick vegetation!!! Fabulous path!!!!

The bivouac located on level - 1 compared to the refuge is dirty, messy and poorly looked after. There is a fountain with non-drinkable water.
