The regional gourmet café is a gem amidst the beautiful landscape along the Apple Road. For 25 years, the Apfelschlössl has combined many things in one: a coffee house, a meeting place for friendly people, a wellness oasis, a place to taste regional products, and much more. More than 20 years ago, the idea was to create a place for a lively club life with a savings club, tennis club, ice hockey club, and, of course, the volunteer fire department, where people could meet, exchange ideas, and spend quality time together. So, the then captain of the Prebuch fire department had the idea of building a coffee house next to the fire station. Many other people from the region then joined this project. Whether through personal work or financial donations, everyone contributed – and the café finally opened in 2000. At the end of 2020, the tenth and final horseshoe sculpture of the LEADER project landed in Albersdorf-Prebuch. The Styrian panther, holding its protective paw over a red apple, marks the beginning of the Styrian Apple Road. The Styrian panther, weighing a proud 400 kg, arrived in the municipality on December 28, 2020, and was placed in its final location in spring 2021. Since the beginning of 2018, ten horseshoe sculptures have been erected in the Weiz-Gleisdorf energy region as part of the LEADER project "Kunst.Hot.Spot." The total project volume amounts to €85,500, 60 percent of which is funded by LEADER funds. It all began in the municipality of Naas with the ceremonial opening of a Styrian Panther in July 2018. Eight more horseshoe sculptures followed in the municipalities of Thannhausen, Puch bei Weiz, St. Ruprecht an der Raab, Hofstätten an der Raab, Mitterdorf an der Raab, Mortantsch, Gleisdorf, and Weiz. The ten sculptures are a Styrian Panther with the municipal coat of arms (Naas), a mother cow with calf (Thannhausen), an apple with a heart (Puch), a book and viola (St. Ruprecht/R.), a squirrel (Hofstätten), a 3D municipal coat of arms (Mitterdorf), a mouflon (Mortantsch), a Styrian Panther with the municipal logo (Gleisdorf), the Weiz "W," and the Styrian Panther with an apple. The trail consists of the Kernkapellenweg and Burgthannerweg. At seven special spots, you can experience seven treasures featuring wood carvings by Hans Pendl from Ruprerecht. Beginning with the Peace Grotto under the church steps of the remarkable Baroque church of St. Ruprecht an der Raab, a special place of tranquility, the hiking trail continues along the Kernkapellenweg. Special resting places await you: the Hubertus Chapel, the Kernkapelle with its magnificent view and life-size Jesus of Emmaus, the Arndorf Prayer Chapel, and the Art Park. Back at the main square, the trail continues onto the Burgthannerweg and the Bee Nature Trail. Numerous sights, such as the Willow Dome and the Nature DDD TV, invite you to rest, but the most special features here are the legendary Stefanie Spring, whose water is said to have eye-healing properties, and the blessing site for children with a tree shrine in a 130-year-old oak tree. The route returns to the main square via an apple orchard with a wonderful view of St. Ruprecht.

A nice idea. If the figure were carved out of the tree (instead of set in) it would be really impressive.
