"In the autumn of 1953, architect Marcello D'Olivo was given the task of designing the master plan for the pine forest of Lignano. The idea that generated the road morphology is linked to the geometry of an Archimedean spiral traced with its origin in Piazza Rosa dei Venti, at the point indicated by the bronze stud fixed in the pavement of the parking lot and developed clockwise starting from an axis inclined at 15° with respect to the geographic north.
