The Castel Sallegg winery, with its three historic vineyards, offers excellent conditions for the production of top-quality wines. The Seehof on Lake Kaltern is ideal for heat-loving grape varieties such as Merlot, Lagrein, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Muscat. The VIGNA Bischofsleiten is the source of the award-winning Kaltern wine, while the Leisenhof, at an altitude of 500 meters, produces mainly white wines. The Preyhof predominantly grows Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir. The quality of the wines depends largely on the expertise of the cellar master. The 1,000-year-old wine cellar, with its festive atmosphere, ensures optimal conditions for fermentation. Castel Sallegg bears witness to a far-reaching and eventful past. It has shaped the landscape of the village of Mitterdorf, a hamlet of Caldaro Sulla Strada del Vino (South Tyrol), since the 16th century. At that time, Sallegg was built as a residence for the Lords of Sall. Excellent wines.

Castel Valer is an ancient medieval fortification, historically owned by the Spaur family. Its characteristic octagonal tower is the highest in Trentino (40 metres).

From 1853 onwards, Ignaz von Giovanelli had a medieval tower converted into a residential building, which was then commissioned by the k.k. It was enlarged between 1900 and 1906 by the Minister of Agriculture Carl von Giovanelli by the Vienna Chief Building Officer Redlich in a historicizing style with elements from Uberet. In the house chapel there are wall paintings by Ignaz Stolz.

Aehrental Castle, Caldaro From the mansion to the castle hotel THE HISTORY To this day, the Aehrental residence is the epitome of the Kalterer manor house of the early 17th century. The coat of arms cartouche on the rustic portal not only bears the year 1635, but also reveals the initials of the builder, the magistrate Sigmund Greif, who built this beautiful Renaissance palazzo. Finally, in the early 18th century, in 1803, Anton Valentin Röggla, clerk of the regional court and then owner of the mansion, was honored by Her Majesty, the Habsburg Empress Maria Theresia, for his extraordinary achievement in draining the swamps on Lake Caldaro and the associated Urbanization of today's fruit-growing landscape, raised to the nobility with the title "von Aehrental". In 1919, after the annexation of South Tyrol by the then Kingdom of Italy, the residence was privatized and operated as a winery for several decades. Finally, in 1983, the residence, which has since been placed under monument protection, was acquired by the Morandell family from Kaltern and converted into today's castle hotel in 1999.
