Rifugio Brentari, named after Ottone Brentari, has a history tied to the Società Alpinisti Tridentini (SAT) and its evolution over time. Construction began in the early twentieth century, and it was the first refuge in the Lagorai mountain range, Cima d'Asta, and suffered significant damage during both world wars.

An alpine pass that connects the Vanoi valley, the Tesino plateau and the Senaiga valley, the Brocon is located at an altitude of 1,616 meters between the municipalities of Canal San Bovo, Lamon and Castello Tesino. The toponym "Brocon" derives from the erica carnea plant, typically dark pink, commonly called brocon.
