It is a very pleasant stop on the long dirt road that connects San Giacomo to Prà (and beyond), with several possibilities in the surroundings for excursions on foot or by bike, highly recommended. At the refuge you eat well, you can relax and you can also stay overnight. Recommended.

The place is also beautiful with the view of the valley below a beautiful meadow kept wonderfully

The Maddalena Refuge is a fantastic building a stone's throw from Bric Vernaglio, easily reachable, it is located at an altitude of about 1100 m.

Pamparato has been inhabited since ancient times; in fact, some Roman tombstones have been found nearby and the bridge, now known as S. Lucia, of Roman origin has been preserved. It is made of stone, with two arches of different sizes. The country is mentioned for the first time in a 911 act in which its borders are specified. The country was able to conquer its autonomy up to stand as a municipality and to draw up, in 1391, the Statutes. In 1535 it became part of the Savoy dominions. Pamparato was in fact for a long time the district capital and the seat of important trade with the plain, with the Ligurian hinterland and with the cities of the coast. Only a few ruins remain of the oldest castle perched on a hill near the town, while the new castle "Cordero di Montezemolo" (17th century), currently the Town Hall, stands in the center of the town on a small hill.
