Immersed in the green Tuscan hills.

The village of Riparbella is located in the Cecina Valley. A medieval castle once stood here, commissioned by the Della Gherardesca counts. "Ripa Albella," or "white shore," refers to the whiteness of the tuff and sandy soil that forms the top of the hill. What distinguishes it from other villages is its urban layout, not circular around the fortification, but linear along the main street. The church of San Giovanni Evangelista bears witness to its medieval origins. Riparbella boasts a beautiful mechanical nativity scene located in the former cinema in Piazza della Madonna, near the Oratory of the Madonna delle Grazie, built in the first half of the 16th century. Despite being on a hill, this village is characterized by the scents of the Mediterranean scrub. From Riparbella, you can enjoy a splendid view of the Etruscan coast all the way to the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago. The numerous surrounding woods allow for walks or bike rides, even horseback excursions, along nature trails such as the one in the Scornabecchi Garden, home to numerous wild boars, particularly appreciated in local cuisine, especially during the traditional November festival.

Riparbella is actually a place of transit, but also has a few beautiful places that you should take a closer look at. For example, there is the old cemetery, which is part of Italy's national monument.

A country with such a characteristic history, an animated nativity scene that can be visited from 24 December to 28 February: from 9.00 to 20.00. March, July and August: Saturday and Sunday 10.00 to 22.00. The climb to reach the village is beautiful.
