A superbly beautiful village with narrow streets and delicious restaurants. However, it's also the most touristy village for miles around. Tour groups are also "delivered" here by bus.

The Church of Santa Maria della Pietà is one of the most iconic and evocative sites in Abruzzo, inseparable from the panorama of the nearby Rocca di Calascio. It is located approximately 1,500 meters above sea level, along the path leading to the castle, within the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park.

Visiting Rocca Calascio is an immersive experience immersed in wild nature and history, and a picnic lunch is the perfect way to fully enjoy the atmosphere and views. If you prefer not to bring your own lunch or want to enjoy something local before the climb, there are several options right next to the Rocca and in the village below.

The trail is very beautiful, but you have to be especially careful of DOGS: not all of them are harmless (one chased us and barked for a long time)...
