Fontecchio is a small medieval village where time seems to have stopped. The inhabitants are just under 300, and you can perceive it in the silence and tranquility that you breathe walking through its narrow alleys and stone houses. The fourteenth-century source in Piazza del Popolo is a splendid surprise.

The Roman Bridge of Fontecchio is an ancient stone bridge that crosses the Aterno river, located near the village of Fontecchio. It is also known as the Stone Bridge.

Pagliare di Tione is an open-air museum: the medieval agro-pastoral settlement is made up of a hundred two-story stone farmhouses. The upper floor was reserved for shepherds and other inhabitants, the lower floor was made up of haystacks (hence the name of the village) which served as a shelter for the animals.
