St. Egidien's Church is located directly adjacent to Colditz Castle. It is the largest church in the town of Colditz. It was first documented in 1286. After being destroyed in a fire in 1430, it was rebuilt in 1504. The only remaining part is the high choir with its ribbed net vault made of Rochlitz porphyry. Rochsburg Castle, probably founded in the late 12th century, stands on a rocky outcrop above the village of Rochsburg, a district of Lunzenau in Saxony, surrounded on three sides by the Zwickauer Mulde River. It is located in the Mulden-Chemnitztal landscape conservation area and is completely enclosed by the Mittleres Zwickauer Muldental (Middle Zwickauer Mulden Valley) protected area, the Täler in Mittelsachsen (Talles in Central Saxony) bird sanctuary, and the Um die Rochsburg nature reserve.
