The ferry house in Lüchtringen was built around 1540. It was home to the ferryman, his family, and his livestock. In later years, the ferry house served as a service and recreation room for the ferrymen until 1977. Today, it is primarily used by the local history and tourism association and is also frequently booked by other associations for board meetings.

The Luther Church stands in the center of Holzminden and is reliably open during the summer months. Documentary evidence suggests that a church building stood on this site as early as the 11th century. The church may originally have been dedicated to Mary, as suggested by a stone on the southwest corner of the tower dating from 1506. This stone bears the inscription "MDVI Maria." This name was likely forgotten during the Reformation. With the incorporation of the village of Altendorf in 1922, the church, previously known simply as the town church, received the name Luther Church, which it still bears today.
