この洞窟は必要に迫られて生まれました。シエラ・デル・アルガロッホがガドゥアレス川をせき止め、川は岩を浸食して出口を見つけることを余儀なくされました。その結果できた洞窟群は、まさに壮観です。 幅17メートル、高さ25メートルのクエバ・デル・ガトは、ガドゥアレス川が再び現れ、グアディアロ川と合流する、くり抜かれた自然の空間を提供しています。主な通路は4km以上に及びます。 乾季には、洞窟群に25の個別の湖が現れます。その中で最も長いのは、いわゆるストームケープで、長さは114メートルです。湖を渡るには泳ぐしかありません。 洞窟の長さは8km強ありますが、中に入ることはできません。
