From 1900 to 1904, a state-of-the-art slaughterhouse was built at a cost of two million gold marks, then still on the outskirts of Offenbach. During the operation, the delivery of slaughter cattle, coal, and other goods was carried out via a branch of the industrial railway. The tall water tower had a curved spire before the war.
