A long green corridor, perfectly recovered, which runs uninterrupted for about 70 km, from the city of Treviso to Montegalda (VI), crossing country villages, naturalistic oases, waterways, cultivated countryside, country churches and Venetian villas. The Treviso-Ostiglia is among the major arteries of Veneto cycle tourism, defined as Itinerary n. 5 in the regional signs (I5). This cycle route allows branching towards other important itineraries, such as the Sile GreenWay (Treviso - Jesolo), the Sentiero degli Ezzelini (Asolo), the Cammino di S. Antonio (Padua), the Brenta Cycle Route (Trento - Bassano del Grappa) , the Bacchiglione cycle path (Padua - Euganean Hills - Vicenza), the Berica Riviera (Vicenza - Padua), the Via del Tergola. It develops in an east-west direction and retraces the route of a former railway built on several occasions between 1921 and 1941. It was a railway line, approximately 116 km long, which connected the city of Ostiglia, in the province of Mantua , in Treviso and therefore ideally two large rivers: the Po and the Piave. The railway, used for both commercial and military reasons, was seriously damaged during the Second World War, so much so that it was made impassable. At the end of the War some sections were permanently closed. Others, in the provinces of Mantua, Verona and Vicenza, continued to operate until the beginning of the 1980s to allow the transport of goods. It has the advantage of being a long, flat wooded line, on its own terrain, mainly asphalted; only the stretch in the province of Treviso (about 15 km) is on a dirt surface with stabilized gravel. Another characteristic of the track is the pleasant succession of railway stations, toll booths and roadman's houses. Most of these structures have been recovered: many are private homes, while others are structures serving and supporting cycle tourists. The recovery work on the site and its transformation into a cycle path began in 2009, while the first inaugurations date back to 2013. www.ciclabile-treviso-ostiglia.it

The Mandelli Mill was the largest flour factory in Treviso, the first large industrial plant which marked, in the last quarter of the last century, the transition from an artisanal economy to a real industrial economy. It rises at the confluence of the Storga and the Sile, in Porto di Fiera. From the papers preserved in the State Archives of Venice there is evidence of a mill already active in the 15th century. In a subsequent map of the Napoleonic land register, dated 1759, two mills can be seen on the sides of the Storga, one with three wheels and one with two, belonging respectively to Bernardin and F.lli Renier and to the Pietà hospital in Venice. It was in 1876 that Luigi Mandelli had a new "Hungarian system" mill built above the former factories, consisting of a vast building in which wheat was milled for the production of bread and bran flours. The mill had driving power represented by two hydraulic motors, which used the waters of the Storga, two Brown-Boveri electric motors and a reserve steam engine. The milling complex is located in a strategic position. The proximity to the Sile river in fact allowed the transportation of grain by water to Venice and the loading-unloading of the goods took place directly from the boats to the silos. Part of the goods were then also transported with carts and mules, given the proximity of the Callalta road. At the beginning of our century the building and the grain warehouses underwent transformations dictated by the renewal of the machinery and the manufacturing process. The complex expanded into several parts, which aggregated around the original nucleus in different periods. To the west of the complex, there is the main villa and some two-storey workers' houses, in good condition and still used. Once the milling activity ceased, the building was used first as a grain warehouse and later as a cocoon dryer. It has been lying in a state of abandonment since the 1990s. In October 2023, a maxi urban and real estate redevelopment project for the area was officially unveiled, which will see the birth of a new cutting-edge neighborhood, surrounded by a green area open to the public, homes, restaurants, offices. https://www.mulinimandelli.it
