Take the forest adventure trail right next door

An entertaining experience even in bad weather

A very small place that is particularly interesting because of its branch church. The pilgrimage church was rebuilt several times and probably originally served as a place of refuge. You can still see a bricked-up window three meters high that was intended as an escape entrance. There is also a really beautiful forest adventure trail that starts in town.

A church with a long history. A small booklet in front of the covered entrance tells about it. Unfortunately the church is rarely open. But you can do it like the pilgrims used to do - the barred window on the west side allows a view inside, even if the church itself is closed.

Here you have to maintain balance. A slackline is stretched between two trees, a great change on the forest adventure trail.

The forest adventure trail is a lovingly designed and maintained short hike around Meggenthal. At around 3 kilometers, the tour is also great for children. If you look at all the stations and try out the many hands-on activities, you'll be on the road for one to two hours.
