"Use dependent on the tide The pedestrian and cycle path can only be used at certain times, as the bridge must be opened for shipping traffic. Two hours before and after high tide, ships must cross the bridge; during these times, the path is closed to pedestrians and cyclists. During operating hours, the bridge is operated from the bridge operator's house. Deutsche Bahn provides information about the exact opening times on its website in the "Downloads" section. Notices on site also provide information about the current operating hours."
