The shortest path from mainland to Triglav mountain. It's not easy path. It is steep path with some climbing path at the end.

Triglav (translated as 'three-headed', Italian Monte Tricorno, German analogous to the Slovenian pronunciation also Triglau) is the highest peak in Slovenia and the Julian Alps at 2864 m. It lies in the centre of the Triglav National Park, which is named after it and is the only national park in the country.

Climb up Triglav from Koca na Dolicu. A via ferrata set is not really helpful because there are few safety options anyway. A climbing helmet is recommended due to the risk of falling rocks. The climb is not technically difficult (via ferrata grade A/B), the most critical are probably the crossings on scree - caution is advised here. Otherwise a very nice experience and a cool atmosphere at the summit

The climb is rewarded with a breathtaking view in all directions.

May 25, 2023. We went up the west route. Snow on the highest point KRN. We were not able to do the loop via the east Batognica route, too much snow and not equipped with crampons

Magnificent peak that can be reached via via ferrata and a slightly exposed path. Highest mountain in Slovenia

Triglav is located in the north-west of Slovenia, not far from the border with Italy and is part of the Julian Alps (Julijske Alpe) chain, divided between Italy and Slovenia, of which it is the highest mountain: 2863 meters above sea level of the sea. There are countless ways to reach the top. Essentially, the ascent to Triglav can be approached from three different sides: from the Mojstrana area (Kransjka gora), from Pokljuka (Bled/Bohinj) or from Trenta (upper Soča valley). It is usually done in two days, with an overnight stay at altitude, the fittest even go from morning to evening (warning: regardless of where you decide to leave, doing the Triglav in one day necessarily involves a trip that exceeds 2000 m of altitude difference !!!) The final part to climb to the top is challenging and not to be underestimated. In particular, the ridge between Mali Triglav and Triglav can be impressive at times for those who suffer from vertigo. Maximum caution must be exercised. This final stretch is usually extremely “busy” between August and September.
