"Budding" is a bronze sculpture by Gerhard Helmers, which has been part of the sculpture trail in Worms-Abenheim since September 2025 and stands above the "Poppy Man" sculpture. According to the Worms city magazine, "it fits seamlessly into the art collection along the Abenheim sculpture trail and creatively engages with the surrounding nature and its various states. The organic form is graceful and sensual. It stimulates, allows for an intense perception of nature, and perhaps also opens individual pathways to self-discovery." I also find the form very beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. Next time I'm near Badenweiler, I'll definitely check out their sculpture trail with its many works by Gerhard Helmers. Here in Abenheim, it feels like a new artwork is added every year, thanks in no small part to the many volunteers – it's fantastic!

If you've already seen the red house, you don't need to bother with the white one. It's not as pretty as the red one.

The "Red House" is a vineyard tower with a hexagonal floor plan in the "Goldberg" vineyard, south of the Osthofen mountain church. The tower has three floors, with the lowest floor being half hidden in the basement of the vineyard as a shelter for workers or hikers. The roof forms what was originally a walkable roof terrace with a crenellated crown. The neo-Gothic windows, the entrance door and the six corner pillars are made of red brick and give the vineyard tower its name. The "Red House" is one of four surviving, elaborately designed vineyard houses in Osthofen.
