Very beautiful location and views, for example, towards Kahla (near Leuchtenburg). Very old settlement area; the Counts of Orlamünde also had a presence here (ca. 11th century).

One of the historical landmarks in Orlamünde is the Kemenate and the town hall.

Unfortunately mostly closed, but I have not been here yet and the approach via the high trail is simply beautiful

The half-timbered castle was built in 1917 by Duke Ernst II of Saxe-Altenburg. It served not only as a hunting lodge but is said to have also served as a pleasure palace for his numerous amorous adventures.

Definitely a lovely place to linger, a bit off the beaten track, and in my opinion, the single stamp attracts many, many hiking enthusiasts. Why? You have to travel by car to collect the touring stamp. What were the people in charge thinking when they selected it? And there are a lot of these single stamps, I wonder why? Yes, it would be perfect for a break if a circular tour were offered, but not like this. 😳
