You simply have to take this route because of the amazing views.

As in many places, there is also a fantastic view down into the valley here.

You have to hike to the castle, and you have to do it over this hill. The view alone would be reason enough. A magnificent place.

Shortly before the castle there is another bench with a wonderful panorama over the landscape and with a view of the castle

View into the valley with seating

We're familiar with game reserves, hunting lodges with established hunting trails, pig farms, etc., but the Rieseneck hunting ground goes far beyond that: As early as the second half of the 16th century, hunting stands (so-called hunting screens) and walkways (stalking paths) were built here, i.e., paths sunk into the ground so that hunters could move around unnoticed by game. Between 1712 and 1727, these were then rebuilt in stone and partially relocated underground.
