This is the second time in just a few weeks that the venerable St. Mary's Church in Minden has been given a new name by Komoot's "artificial intelligence." 🙈🥵 Most recently, it was "Church of Heaven." 🤣 I'm curious to see what else the robot comes up with. 🤣

The Lahde Monastery Mill is a unique technical cultural monument and one of the few combined wind and watermills in Germany. First documented in 1292 as the watermill of St. Mary's Monastery, it was supplemented by a two-story gallery mill in 1876 after a fire. This rare combination made it possible to use water power during calm periods and wind power during low tides. Today, the mill is part of the Westphalian Mill Route and a worthwhile stop for culture-loving cyclists and hikers.

St. Mary's Church in Minden was formerly the monastery church of the Benedictines, whose monastery was moved to Minden around the year 1000. In the second half of the 12th century, the church was built as a cruciform, single-aisled structure and expanded in the 14th century to become a two-bay hall church. The tower was built from 1255 on a base area of 12 x 12 meters and reaches a height of around 60 meters. It is a landmark of the city of Minden. The tower roof dates from the end of the 19th century. Inside the church, Romanesque groin vaults can still be found in the central and transept nave between round-arched belts. In the high Gothic parts of St. Mary's Church, the ceiling vaults are rib vaults. St. Mary's Church suffered severe damage in the Second World War.
