A connecting road used to run past here. In the last quarter of the 19th century, it was primarily Bremen merchants who needed extra horses for their large covered wagons at Kalbsieker Brink. From the Kaase Inn, the extra horses pulled the wagons to a bright red post, 2 meters high, on the crest of the Wiehen Hills. Here, the horses were tied up and rested. Today, a new red post stands in the same spot.
