The cultural agency of the Landesverband Lippe organizes top-class musical events at Sternberg Castle. In addition to regional cultural institutions, ensembles and musicians from all over Europe give concerts in the historic knight's hall of the castle.
The history of Sternberg Castle as a musical institution began in 1944/45 when Peter Harlans was posted as manager of an aircraft spare parts warehouse. The Luftwaffe helper took the command, “To Burg Sternberg, return journey canceled” literally and settled in the old knight's castle.
