The Seewirt Ecking is a popular day-trip and dining restaurant located directly on Lake Simssee, with a terrace and outdoor seating almost right down to the shore. In summer, the Seewirt is open daily except Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., with hot meals served continuously from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. One of the daily specials, such as Wiener Schnitzel or roast pork, is always available for under ten euros.

The Simssee is embedded in a gentle hilly landscape with largely untouched reed and bank areas. You can circle the lake on foot or by bike (approx. 20 km). A well-developed path leads from Baierbach through moor and reed areas to Ecking. In addition to a campsite, three swimming areas, some of which are accessible free of charge, and boat moorings offer recreational opportunities for sailors.
