Actually it wasn't ice weather, but I passed this ice cream parlor and remembered reading recently that it made it to number 4 in the Rhineland-Palatinate rankings. So some ice cream was needed. Grandma's lemon cake and children's penguin or something like that - totally delicious, even if it was way too cold. Opposite there is the associated ice cream machine from the ice cream workshop, which was used several times when I was standing there. If I ever come to Birkenfeld again, I'll hopefully get an ice cream as a gift since I've been doing so much advertising :-)

The rock church rises high above the houses of Oberstein, built into a natural rock niche. Wyrich IV of Daun-Oberstein had it built between 1482 and 1484. Behind her the rock face rises steeply, below her the houses of Oberstein nestle on the slope. Thanks to its exposed location, the church has become the city's landmark.
