Between 1480 and 1526, Jerg Ratgeb created the Herrenberg Altar, which is one of the most important works of art from the early 16th century. The original is now in the collection of the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart. To commemorate the artistic creativity of the painter and Peasants' War Chancellor Jerg Ratgeb, a group of Herrenberg citizens invited contemporary artists to contribute to this extraordinary project. The sculpture trail combines 25 sculptural contributions on an impressive route: starting at Herrenberg train station, the trail leads through the old town to the Schlossberg.
