Pigs roam around the lake. It doesn't get much more animal-friendly than that.

The Schweinsgartensee got its name because the surrounding forests were once used to fatten pigs. An information board provides interesting information about the lake. There is also a large seating area set up on the well-developed hiking trail that leads past, which offers a great view of the lake.

Historical post road between Neustrelitz and Feldberg

The historic post route to Neustrelitz leads through a fantastic forest. Absolutely a must if you are in the area. Especially in autumn when the leaves change color.

Imposing beeches (and forests in general), great lakes and moors, and an observation post for ospreys and cranes make this tour very interesting, especially in the evening twilight mood. The only thing missing now is the encounter with a wolf 🐺 from the pack that lives there.
