Near the National Park Gate Keltenpark

The Otzenhausen Celtic Village is a reconstruction of a Celtic settlement from the 1st century BC on the Hunnenring. It features residential buildings, workshops, and granaries, surrounded by a palisade that depicts Celtic life. Visitors can take part in themed tours, workshops, and archaeological demonstrations. The surrounding area also offers space for cultural events and theater performances.

This is how our ancestors lived in their community

We planned to refill our water supplies here for our overnight stay at the "Keltenlager" trekking site on May 1, 2025. Unfortunately, the spring had dried up, and we had to walk to the dam further downstream for water. Here, we found a bubbling spring just above the trail.

📍 Along the Hubertusrunde There's a bench there – well-placed with a view of the valley. But today: fog, a gray horizon, no visibility. And yet – or perhaps because of that – it was a special moment. The silence, the damp air, the wide view into nothingness. You sit, hear nothing – and think a lot. 💡 Tip: Whether it's sunny or foggy, this bench invites you to pause. On a clear day, there's a panorama – on a foggy day, a very special kind of expanse.

If you are on the road for a longer period of time as a runner, you can easily incorporate this spring and the one in the Forstelbachtal into the route as a "water filling station"; then you don't have to carry bottles. Important when making this decision for yourself: there should be a strong stream of water running and it shouldn't have been very warm for a long time.

Otzenhausen. In front of it is the newly built museum on the subject of Celts, including the Keltenpark Café on the ground floor. A walk can also be followed by a visit to the ring wall.
