The hiking trail along the dam is dotted with interesting information panels about the flora and fauna in and around the dam. It is in very good condition and easy to walk on. Sturdy footwear is recommended, however. Below the path marked as Felsenweg 3b, a narrow path runs directly along the shore of the dam. Be careful, there are a few scrambles along the rocks; the path is not marked or signposted. The reward for your efforts are impressive views of the dam.

Drinking water dam in Werda

My dog and I recently went on a photography tour to the Werda Dam and it was a great experience. We started at the foot of the impressive dam and made our way over it. The views from the top were breathtaking and I was able to take some great photos of the dam and the surrounding landscape. The dam itself is an impressive structure and a worthwhile photo opportunity. The power and size of the dam only becomes clear when you walk directly over it. On the other side of the dam we continued our tour and enjoyed the peace and beauty of nature. The landscape was picturesque and my dog was thrilled by the many new smells and sights. The Werda Dam truly offers a perfect backdrop for photography enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. It was a relaxing yet inspiring walk that I would recommend to anyone who wants to explore the area and enjoy the beauty of this dam.
