A beautiful, natural hiking trail that runs parallel to the forest path, always along the Epping Lines. In some places where the ditch has been filled in to create forest roads, you also have a good view of the cross-section of the former defense system.

Not far from the monastery, on the plateau of a historic quarry, lies the Schafhof. Baroque half-timbered farmsteads and stone barns still characterize its appearance today. The "Museum on the Schafhof" depicts the monastery's connections with the rural and artisanal culture of the local community. The museum kitchen, blacksmith shop, pharmacy, and changing exhibitions paint a picture of Maulbronn's development. The Schafhof is also home to the "10 Maulbronn Heads," busts of famous former monastery pupils, including Hermann Hesse, Johannes Kepler, and Friedrich Hölderlin.
