Haydau Monastery was originally built in 1235 as a Cistercian nunnery and converted into a castle for the Landgraves of Hesse-Kassel around 1600. From 1985 to 2001, the monastery was renovated and now serves as a venue for conferences, congresses, art and cultural events, weddings, and family celebrations.

Around 1200, Wichte lay on the high road that, as part of the "Long Hesse," connected Ziegenhain and Reichenbach, the corner strongholds of the Counts of Ziegenhain-Reichenbach. This high road crossed the Fulda River on a stone bridge above the Leimbachshof farm, before the present-day Morschen bridge. Wichte was granted market rights by the Counts of Ziegenhain in 1237.

The Protestant church in Wichte was built in 1845/46 as a simple hall church with a tower clock and two bells.

The path there is worth hiking

Very nice ensemble: the "flyers", the tree, the bench.

The rake beech has nothing to do with a rake like the one tied up here. The foresters from Melsungen, Morschen and Spangenberg met here to calculate and allocate the felling. The stone is the Dreimärkerstein. This boundary stone was erected for the 1000th anniversary of Morschen on the border between Melsungen-Adelshausen, Spangenberg-Mörshausen and Morschen-Heina.
