The archaeological sites at the Große Niestehütte are also not accessible. A plaque commemorates this important glassworks in detail.

Apart from the information boards, you can't see anything of the old glassworks. But these signs on the Eco Trail are very informative.

The trail runs along the state border between Hesse and Lower Saxony, so you'll see a particularly large number of beautiful 19th-century border stones. These were erected by the predecessor states, the Electorate of Hesse (KFH) and the Kingdom of Hanover (KH).
