The Saale Valley Bridge along the A4 motorway near Jena is not only one of the most impressive bridges in Germany, but also a significant monument to the history and progress of bridge construction. It carries the B88, two Deutsche Bahn tracks, the Saale River, and the Saale floodplain. With its 17 main arches, it rises as a striking arched bridge made of limestone masonry. At 794.27 meters long, it was once the longest motorway bridge in the former Reichsautobahn network and remains an indispensable component of one of Thuringia's busiest intersections. A beautiful route along the Orla River and train platforms. 😁 Especially not very busy, which surprised me, but oh well 🤷. All the more peaceful for cycling 🚴‍♀️.

Transfer to the right. Exit is great, but re-entry is a bit more challenging.
