You will be led into the vault and board a carriage. You will be equipped with headphones in your own language and 3D glasses. The story of three soldiers will be reenacted on September 13, 1916, on a rainy morning, returning from the Fleury front to Verdun. They were ordered to participate in the ceremony in the citadel. The "election of the unknown soldier" made this place a symbol of this terrible history. No photos are permitted during the tour. Opening hours vary depending on the season. Be sure to dress warmly, as it is always cold in the mountains (7 degrees Celsius).

Beautiful view over Verdun and the Meuse valley. On the nearby main road it is wonderful to drive downhill, but uphill is only recommended to a limited extent due to the busy traffic.
