The Randen forest has held a certain magic for me for years. Dr. Wald does so much for the soul here. Every section has something special. But the view from the Hagenturm... and if you're lucky enough to be able to see as far as Lake Constance, or the Alps, the warm colors of autumn, or the green of spring – I'm at a loss for words.

A very nice rest area with a barbecue and views of the Alps. From here, heading west along the side road (with a 40 km/h speed limit for cars, which is only ignored by the Swiss), there are benches with lovely views at regular intervals. There's also a bus stop here. You register in advance and then get a free ride here (or from here).

A wonderful place in both summer and winter!

The church of Merishausen is located at a slightly elevated position. The church tower, which is covered in very colorful tiles, is particularly striking.

I was here in mid-May when the orchids were in bloom. A small path that was laid out around the Hasenbuck Hut leads past a variety of different orchids. The large anemone (Anemone sylvestris), of which there are only a few left in Switzerland, is also in full bloom here in mid-May.
