The Sywollen Tower in Kaufbeuren is a historic landmark in the city center, part of the former city fortifications. The round tower was built around 1420 as a defensive tower. From 1249 to 1964, it housed the Holy Spirit Hospital. Today, the tower contains a small museum showcasing the history of the city wall and the tower itself, as well as exhibits on regional history.
