In brief: Three-winged complex with courtyard and stair tower, 18th century, built over older remains, extended and raised several times, funding provided in 2010, 2012, 2015, and 2024. First mentioned in 1445. It has always been owned by the family of the Barons von Seckendorff-Aberdar.

In the summer, the Klosterhofspiele (Monastery Courtyard Plays) take place in the monastery's inner courtyard. Each year, there's a play for children and usually an entertaining classic for adults. Storks clatter from the roof every now and then during the performance. Tip: Bring a cushion from home.

Langenzenn passed into the possession of the Nuremberg burgraves from the House of Hohenzollern around 1248. The monastery, dedicated to Saint Mary, was founded in 1409 by John III and Frederick VI, burgraves of Nuremberg; it was dissolved in 1533 during the Reformation. The monastery, with its Gothic cloister, has been preserved.

The Protestant, listed parish church of St. Kilian is located in Markt Erlbach. This Gothic hall church, made of ashlar masonry, was built at the end of the 14th century. Protestant Main Church (St. Martin and Mary Wilhermsdorf, this name is incorrect) Repeated attempts, even in modern publications, to assign the old patronage name "St. Martin and Mary" to the "Main Church" have been rejected to this day. It remains a mystery why the Main Church has not been given another name, documented in the extensive documents relating to the church's consecration. Perhaps, a "Protestant" reference could be found here, too, in which such a simple designation as "Main Church" clearly gives priority to the functional designation "church" (Greek: kȳrikón = "House of God").
