The Maierhofer Mühle inn closed its doors in 2023. But the historic buildings are always worth a visit. The blacksmith's shop on the property is still in operation, by the way. But it's not a "museum," as I read on another website.

We stumbled upon this place more or less by chance on our tour and wanted to warm up a bit with a coffee. Then we discovered how quaint and cozy it is, and we arrived just in time to enjoy the owner's freshly baked chocolate cake straight from the oven. A nearly perfect break :)

There's a beautiful natural landscape and/or marshland to the west of the trail. It looks fantastic.
