A beautiful park located right next to St. Patrick's Well, offering a stunning view. Just before the entrance, on the right, there's also a beautiful War Memorial.

If you come to Umbria, you can't miss this beautiful city. Among the main attractions, I recommend: the Duomo, St. Patrick's Well, Orvieto Underground, the Pozzo della Cava, and finally the Etruscan Museum. The "e" in Orvieto is pronounced open like "ferro" (iron), not closed.

The beating heart of the city, Piazza della Repubblica is today the meeting place of Orvieto's residents. Once the site of public events and papal ceremonies, it houses the Church of Sant'Andrea and the Town Hall.

The medieval quarter of Orvieto, located on the western slope of the cliff, represents the oldest and most original part of the city. Characterized by narrow streets, tuff houses, and picturesque views, it includes the historic Via della Cava, an ancient access route to the city, with the Porta Maggiore and the remains of Etruscan walls. Here are also the Pozzo della Cava, the small church of the Madonna della Cava, and two imposing "fortress-churches": San Giovenale and San Giovanni Evangelista, built in strategic positions to control the territory. Panoramic routes such as the one along Ripa Medici or between the two churches offer evocative views of the medieval urban settlement.

A very particular monument is the one in Piazza Cahen in Orvieto. The work of an artist from Orvieto, Angelo Cocchieri, who sculpted a Victory crowning dying soldiers, it was inaugurated by King Vittorio Emanuele III on November 25, 1928. It is called the Altar of the Five Hundred because that is the estimated number of Orvieto fallen. The curiosity of this monument is that the names of the fallen in the list, unfortunately difficult to read especially in the upper part, are rigorously categorized. It begins with those who fell in the wars of independence, and then continues with those who fell in the colonial wars and in the Great War 1915-18, in turn with their subcategories: those who died from combat wounds in captivity; those who died from torpedoing on a steamship; those who died from accidents; those who died from illness in Italy; those who died from illness in captivity; missing on the battlefield; missing in captivity; missing in an unspecified place; born outside of Orvieto or domiciled here; deaths by accident; deaths by combat wounds in Italy. Piazza della Repubblica is one of Orvieto's most famous city squares. Located at the western end of Corso Cavour, the historic square is home to a number of beautiful buildings.
