The Örebro Theatre, also known as the Gamla Teatern (Old Theatre), was built from 1851 and inaugurated on January 2, 1853. At that time, it was the second largest theatre in the country after the old opera house in Stockholm. The architect was Hjalmar Wijnbladh, and the building was completed by his brother, the city architect Fridolf Wijnbladh.

Henry Allard Park in the center of Örebro was created in 1913 and was formerly called Centralparken. After the death of former Speaker of Parliament Henry Allard in 1996, the park received its current name.

Since 2011, the "Sun Boy" by Finnish artist Pekka Kauhanen from Espoo, near Helsinki, has stood here in Järntorget. As a contribution to "OpenArt," the figure belonged to a group of burlesque-absurd figures such as "Cotton Girl," "Moon Woman," "Snowman," and "Foamhead." Only "Sun Boy" remains of the group, a dark bronze figure depicting a boy with deep-set eyes and an open mouth. The figure is missing its arms. The sculpture group has disappeared, but the Sun Boy is not entirely alone. A closer look at the golden tassel protruding from the side of his head reveals that it is a small, flowing garment. Neither head nor limbs are visible beneath the garment, yet the figure appears alive. Kauhanen's poetic imagery is strongly influenced by fairy tales and invites a variety of interpretations.

Örebro Castle is situated on an island in the Svartån River. It was originally built, presumably in the mid-14th century, by King Magnus Eriksson as a fortified castle. Around 1600, during the reign of Duke Charles, and from 1604 onwards King Charles IX, it was remodeled into a Renaissance castle in the French style. By this time, it had largely lost its function as a defensive structure. The renovations carried out in the 20th century did not alter the exterior of the castle, but none of the interior rooms remain in their original condition. Since 1764, the Governor of Örebro County has resided in the castle's northwest tower.

Örebro's Town Hall, dating from 1863, is the seat of the city's political leadership and administration. Built from 1859 onwards in the Neo-Gothic style according to the plans of city architect Fridolf Wijnbladh, the Town Hall was so large that it also housed the police station, the savings bank, a bookshop, and the technical school.

The main church of Örebro is dedicated to Saint Nicholas, the patron saint of sailors and merchants. It is said that the original church here was built in the 13th century by merchants from Lübeck. The oldest part is the chancel, dating from around 1275. The second construction phase (from the beginning of the 14th century) shows High Gothic influences. Large parts of the church are built from Närke limestone. The tower was added in the first third of the 15th century. St. Nicholas Church acquired its present appearance during the extensive restoration from 1863 to 1900, which emphasized the building's Gothic style.
