10月 6, 2025, Historic Center of Bergün/Bravuogn
A lovely little village with many beautiful, old houses. Even without visiting the railway museum, it's worth getting off the train here and exploring the village.

There are very good connections in this region by train and post bus.

There are two ways to reach the Parpaner Rothorn: either by taking the cable car or by embarking on a challenging and strenuous hike. If you choose the latter option, you'll need sturdy footwear. Surefootedness and a head for heights are also beneficial on the ascent, ensuring you reach the summit safely. Next to the cable car station, there's also a panoramic restaurant where you can recharge with fine dining after a strenuous hike.

Attention, the Zügenschlucht has been closed until further notice since August 2023 following a storm due to rockfall, windthrow of wood and landslides! This will remain the case until at least 2025 (info at davos.ch/aktivitaeten/outdoor-abenteuer).

In the picturesque landscape between Wiesen and Monstein in Davos, the Zügenschlucht stretches for over three kilometers. The constant flow of the Landwasser has created this impressive natural gorge, which is accompanied by the impressive rock formations of the Steig and the Silberberg. This section of the Epic Trail is easy to navigate and offers you the opportunity to enjoy the breathtaking views of the gorge in peace.

It's worth coming by bike when there's no snow, which at the altitude is actually only between June and August and only if it hasn't rained in the valley about 2 weeks before. A must for bikers: Dark side of the moon. And an insider tip: Furcletta Trail for advanced skiers!

Berguen/Bravuogn In the 12th century, a small dominion arose around Greifenstein Castle in the municipality of Filisur, which came into the possession of the Bishop of Chur in 1394. Latsch was mentioned in documents in 1154, Bergün in 1209 and Stuls in 1270. In 1537 Bergün was able to replace the episcopal rights with a monetary payment and thus attained full sovereignty within the church association. In 1577/1590 it joined the Reformation. The Bergün court also included the neighborhoods of Filisur, Latsch and Stuls. In addition to livestock farming, traffic over the Albula Pass and mining formed the basis of life for the town. A new road was built through the Bergünerstein in 1696 using explosives – a first in Graubünden road construction at the time. Mining and smelting of iron ore (hematite) from the rear Val Tisch and Val Plazbi experienced its last heyday around 1840. When the Albula Railway opened in 1903, the people of Bergün expected a boom in tourism that would raise the village to the level of the Upper Engadin spa towns of St. Moritz and Pontresina. The Kurhaus Bergün, built in 1905/1906, bears witness to these hopes. The fact that the town had to say goodbye to these plans during the First World War is seen today as a happy coincidence, because the village was able to preserve its historic townscape in its entirety. Latsch and Stuls, which were raised to independent political communities in 1851, merged again with Bergün in 1912 and 1921 respectively. From 2014 negotiations were ongoing regarding a merger with the municipality of Filisur to form the municipality of Bergün Filisur. 10月 22, 2022, Filisur Railway Station
From the train station "Filisur" you have a wonderful view of the city of the same name, which lies below the station. A nice restaurant with various little things (drinks, lunch, coffee and cake) for mountain bikers, hikers, etc. is attached to the train station. It's bearable here. From Filisur train station you can take the train to Chur, St. Moritz or Davos. From here you can go on many hikes in different directions.

Simple but beautiful bike tour through the Zügen Gorge. From Wiesen take the trail to Leidboden and continue under the Landwasser viaduct, great section! At the end a few meters of altitude to Filisur and the leisurely round is done.
