The Leaning Tower of St. Moritz A landmark dating back to the 12th century, the Leaning Tower was originally part of St. Mauritius Church, which was demolished in 1890. The tower is 33 meters tall and leans at a 5.5-degree angle—even more than the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa (about 4 degrees less). It is located directly opposite the Kulm Hotel. The tower is not only an impressive architectural feature but also a symbol of St. Moritz's medieval heritage. Visitors can admire and photograph its distinctive tilt from various vantage points in the town center. Its lean is due to the soft ground on which it was built—and yet it has stood steadfast for centuries as one of the most photographed landmarks in the region. The Cresta Rider The life-size bronze Cresta Rider by David Wynne is a gift from the St. Moritz Tobogganing Club to the town for its 100th anniversary. It is located at the foot of the Leaning Tower, near the first streetlamp and opposite the Kulm Hotel. Worth seeing town hall, which fits well into the cityscape

The oldest church, the main church of the Plaiv St. Moritz, which encompassed the upper section of the valley up to Sils, was dedicated to Saint Maurice until the 15th century. It stood slightly elevated above the country road leading to Celerina on the Brattas slope at the upper end of the village and was visible from afar. The church was first mentioned in a document from 1139. The church was probably completely rebuilt around 1500 on the site of an earlier Romanesque building with a small, probably semicircular apse. The church was renovated and repaired several times. The structural condition of the venerable church deteriorated noticeably as a result of landslides. In 1897, after the consecration of the new church tower, calls were made for the demolition of the leaning tower. This was avoided thanks to the dedicated intercession of the master builder Nicolaus Hartmann. The only remaining visible part of the old St. Maurice Church is the "Leaning Tower," now a landmark of the world-famous spa town, wedged between modern buildings. Albula Pass, a beautiful road up from Tiefencastel, with several tough sections before Bergün, and very little traffic! Full of great places to stop for a snack, the road climbs parallel to a railway line that occasionally shows itself from the road, offering great views.
