The bird dam in the raised moor area of the Steinhuder Meer Nature Park. The moor is home to a variety of rare animal and plant species on 2300 hectares. A wooden footbridge leads to the small water lily lake. Hard to believe: Where sky-blue moor frogs croak today, there was a hill of sand 60 years ago. If you want to know how the mountain became a lake, you should take a closer look at the station.
