The whole route is unique, you come very far out into the reed desert and are right in the middle of it. Most of the time you can't see far because you can't see over the reeds. The observation tower is great for that. There is also a dry place to rest here.

With around 20,000 hectares, the Peene river valley is one of the largest contiguous fen areas in Central and Western Europe. Here you can observe waterfowl up close.

A fantastic habitat for fauna and flora. Migratory bird flocks, in particular, benefit from the abundance of food during their regular migrations between their breeding grounds and winter quarters. Hopefully, this piece of nature will remain intact.

Great view over the moor and its feathered inhabitants. Nice place to take a break. The benches in the covered playground could use some repairs.

From here you can observe numerous birds - definitely take binoculars with you. You can also reach the observation tower by car.

If you hike through the Anklamer Stadtbruch, you should definitely have very good shoes, long clothes and hiking sticks or similar to make your way through the reeds. The "path" can sometimes only be guessed at as such, it is extremely overgrown! Even in dry summer weather, sturdy shoes are necessary, as you can always bag something. The exit to Rosenhäger Damm is always a bit under water, rubber boots are highly recommended here. You can also meet wild boars here... The bridges over the peat canals are very good!
