Hilzsteg romps over moor

The Kingfisher Valley near Bad Stuer is an idyllic, unspoiled stream valley in the Mecklenburg Lake District, crossed by the Stuer Stream. The steep slopes and tranquil waterways provide ideal breeding conditions for kingfishers, which can regularly be observed here. The area is particularly popular with nature lovers and cyclists. Several well-maintained trails lead through the valley. Access is possible from the Müritz Bear Sanctuary or directly from the Bad Stuer campsite. The valley combines nature observation, tranquility, and scenic beauty in a small space and is a true highlight for anyone who enjoys native wildlife and tranquil nature.

In 2023 and 2024 I interrupted my long bike rides here several times for a few swims. Very clear, beautiful water. You can no longer stand at the end of the jetty. Clean water and the bottom is firm and sandy, small climbing plants and no water lilies. One of the most beautiful lakes in the area, I think.

After the road the path becomes a bit narrow through a piece of forest. later across a field and again in the forest it runs in two lanes.

With so many lakes, there can sometimes be a “mountain lake”. It made me curious and attracted me. Very beautiful sight, great view of the lake and crystal clear water. It's worth it!

Beautiful view of water, birds and pure nature

If you have binoculars or the right lens for bird watching, you can bring them with you...there is a lot to see here! Unfortunately, I forgot my 600 lens.

Relaxing forest area and together with the Plauer See definitely worth a trip.
