This location marks the center point of Thuringia. Its precise location was determined using modern surveying techniques, taking into account the state's borders (approximately 50,000 boundary points). The memorial stone was unveiled on August 17, 2008.

Here in Rockhausen, you'll find the geographical center of Thuringia. The area is beautifully designed and can be easily integrated into circular tours. The network of cycle paths is very well developed. From hybrid bikes to full-suspension bikes, everyone will find what they're looking for here.

That was my starting point for reaching the center of Germany in Niederdorla.

Learned something new while cycling on the really well signposted and passable Erfurt 🚲 cycle path ring.

Something has to bloom here. Have stopped by several times, but haven't found anything so far.
